Sports Day 2022

Preparations are underway for Sports Day this summer and we are looking forward to inviting parents to the event after competing without spectators last year. Last year we made a few changes to the organisation of the event and, as it was a huge success, we are continuing with Sports Day in year group phases. The dates and times of each event are outlined below; the timings are approximate, however we aim to start as promptly as we can. The children will compete to get points for their house and all points will be combined together to reveal the overall winning house.

Monday 4th July

Foundation (9:30 – 12:00)

Year 1 and 2 (1:30 – 3:00)

Tuesday 5th July

Year 3 and 4 (9:30 – 12:00)

Year 5 and 6 (1:30 – 3:15)

We are pleased that this year we are inviting spectators to the event and the children are looking forward to having supporters cheering them on. All supporters can enter the school field through the car park gate and there will be a designated area for supporters to watch from. Once the event is finished, all supporters will be asked to leave the field through the same gate and the children will go back into their classrooms. Lunch times will be the same as a normal school day and pick up at the end of the day will be from the classroom as normal once the children have returned to their classroom. There will be no picnic lunch on the field as there has been in previous years.

For school dinners, there will be no hot meal option for any children on either day. Instead a picnic bag of either cheese or ham sandwich will be provided for those who would like a school lunch. The dinner menu has been adjusted accordingly and any lunches already pre-ordered for that day have been cancelled. Please order as normal on school money or your child’s class teacher can do so in school.

We need to be prepared for all weather, so that everyone can enjoy the day as safely as possible. Please ensure sun cream has been applied and make sure your child has a hat and a water bottle. Also bring a rain coat! We will notify you as soon as we can if the weather forecast means we have to cancel. The reserve dates are Thursday 14th July (Foundation, Year 1 and 2) and Friday 15th July (Year 3, 4, 5 and 6)

Children need to wear full PE kit to school as normal on the day and if you have any questions please ask your child’s class teacher.
