The Winchcombe School

Improving As One

Our Vision and Values

Our Mission

At The Winchcombe School we passionately believe in Improving As One,  so all pupils gain and retain the key knowledge they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Every child has the right to have an education that helps them have every opportunity available to them when they are an adult and that no door is closed. We believe that regardless of gender, background or level of expertise - everyone can improve and succeed both in school and in their life.

Everyone will live ‘Improving as One’ by embracing our core values:

Taking responsibility for your actions by being honest and treating everyone and everything with consideration

Being thoughtful and caring towards others

Embracing challenge and solving problems on the journey to excellence

Being motivated and inspired to learn more

So, we create a school where everyone:

  • Gains the key knowledge they need to thrive, improve and feel success
  • Can adapt to any situation and work together to solve problems
  • Can communicate effectively with others in all situations so all feel safe, happy and secure
  • Can understand and celebrate diversity in our inclusive world
  • Embraces challenge and mistakes to help them think deeply to improve themselves and others
  • Shows empathy and understanding by listening  to the views and feelings of others

Our Vision

Become a school with a progressive, memorable mastery-based curriculum that is built on the foundations of oracy, reading, writing and arithmetic, so it meets the needs of all pupils and enhances their life chances

Become a school where every member of staff aspires to helping 100% of pupils to be at Age Related Expectations or better by the end of Year 6.

Become a place where we cherish wellbeing, where everyone is totally committed to their work but has time to enjoy life outside of school as well as in.

Become a school that works in a real partnership with our parents, where all parents have the highest aspirations for their children and work with us in educating the children of The Winchcombe School.

*Values are subject to change following further discussion with pupils, parents and carers and staff.
